Country Life

This is a painting that is the result of my demonstration to my oil painting class. I teach a 6-week class, one evening a week. Each class period is 2 1/2 hours long. I enjoy doing that very much. All the students paint from the same reference photo, including me, and I use mine for demonstration. I am titling this painting "Country Life". It is 16" x 20" oil on canvas.

This painting received an Award Of Merit at the Art Show that was held at the Peoria School District Office.

  2. This is incredible. I clicked and stared at the larger image for a few minutes going "No WAY that's a PAINTING. No way!"

I hope you take that as a compliment because I meant it as one! :)

  3. Yes, Samantha, it is a painting, and I surely do take that as a compliment. you would actually see quite a bit of brushwork with a very close view. I enjoy using pieces such as this as demonstrations for my students. They enjoy watching me turn a white canvas into a painting. I really enjoyed painting this one.

  8. Hi Bill,

Now I know that you can really paint :-)
There's nothing like a landscape painting that puts us there.

    Take care,

    José

  9. Hi again,

    I'd like to add something.
For those who haven't tried it yet: click on the image to make it bigger and then cover one of your eyes.
You'll notice that the painting gains a slightly improved dimension, especially around the lake and on the trees behind the house.
This is something that I do sometimes when looking at paintings.

    Best regards,

    José
