PEARLY PAIR

This is a 16" x 20" oil on canvas painting that I just completed.  Like my other flower paintings, I have used my glazing method in painting this one.

I have titled this painting, "Pearly Pair"

WILD ONE

This is an oil painting that  I created on an 11" x 14" canvas.  I call it "Wild One".

I received an "Artist Of The Month" at my local, art club meeting last month with this painting.  My art club is the Peoria Fine Arts Association (PFAA).  From the 5 total paintings that were in the running for "Artist Of The Year" at my club meeting, this painting has now received the "Artist Of The Year" award.

DON'T EAT THE DAISIES

I painted this subject as a test for a canvas-covered, RayMar Panel, which I bought some time ago.  I call the painitng, "Don't Eat The Daisies".   I was so pleased with it that I entered it into the Arizona State Fair, along with two other paintings.  I was fortunate to have received a First Place In Oils in the open, fine art category.  I just sold this painting at the Glendale Art Competition, 2013.

GEM OF THE GARDEN

This is a test that I did on a RayMar Panel.  I like panels because they are inflexible, and quite durable.  This is a panel coated with Claessens, double oil primed, Linen canvas.  It worked very well, and I'm pleased enough with the RayMar Panel that I intend to buy more of them.

This is 11" x 14" oil on a RayMar Linen panel.

NIGHT CLASS

The subject of this painting is a little area of apartments just down the street from me. Late at night, or very early in the morning, the light appears to light up a specific area, which is the way I tried to portray it in this painting. This is a 16" x 20" oil on canvas, which I have titled, "Night Class".

This painting received a "Best Of Show" at the Peoria Celebration Of Artists Exhibit at the Peoria City Hall Gallery, Peoria, AZ.  It has been sold.

JOURNEY

This painting is a 16" x 20" on canvas. I appreciate the Hudson River Valley School of painting, and this is probably the closest I've come to painting in that style. "Journey"...16" x 20" oil on canvas.

LUCID LAVENDER

This is an oil painting of a very beautiful sort of orchid. It is 16" x 20" painted in oil on linen. I used my glazing method for this, for which I first paint a finished, detailed grisaille underpainting, following it with many, very thin glazes of colored paint. I call it "Lucid Lavender".

This painting just received a "People's Choice" Award at the Arizona State Fair 2011
